— ARTIST'S STATEMENT
I’m devastated to say this but I need to cancel my forthcoming UK and EU tour. I’m an independent, self funded artist and despite putting in lots of my own money to get to this stage, and always wanting to give you guys the best of what I can do, the current cost of living crisis, the effect of Brexit on touring musicians, and now the collapse of the pound recently has made my tour unsustainable. I’ve waited so long do this and am aching to perform the album for you so I’m beyond gutted, but I hope you all understand this difficult decision.
The only show I will be playing is London on the 9th of November – now at Bush Hall, instead of Heaven. It will be extra special, and I can’t wait to see you.

I’m so sorry I won’t see all of your beautiful faces this time around, but hope I get to see you again very soon!

Poppy Ajudha is het product van de hedendaagse Londense muziekscene en alle diversiteit die daarin verpakt zit. Door haar St. Luciaans-Britse achtergrond, het milieu waarin ze opgroeide en de creatievelingen met wie ze optrok, heeft de Zuid-Londense muzikante een eigen muzikale identiteit ontwikkeld die soul, r&b, jazz en pop blendt met socio-politieke boodschappen. Dat leverde haar intussen al zo'n meer dan 20 miljoen streams op, headline shows over de hele wereld en samenwerkingen met Moses Boyd en Tom Misch. Poppy komt op voor waar ze in gelooft en gaat geen thema uit de weg. Op 'The power in us', haar debuutalbum dat vanaf 11 maart 2022 in de rekken ligt, heeft ze het over feminisme, kolonialisme, genderpolitiek, sociale thema's en meer persoonlijke onderwerpen. Dat alles gebracht natuurlijk met die instant herkenbare, bijzonder soulvolle stem van haar; iets om naar uit te kijken!
