Ana Roxanne en DJ Python (Brian Piñeyro) waren al jaren fan van elkaars werk, maar het was pas toen Roxanne naar New York verhuisde dat de twee ook elkaar begonnen te inspireren. Zoals je kan horen op hun self-titled debuutplaat ‘Natural wonder beauty concept’ vullen de twee elkaar moeiteloos aan, bijna alsof ze samen een geheel vormen. Op eerste single ‘Sword’ klinkt dat als gedeconstrueerde glitch-core, waarbij de subtiliteit nooit uit het oog verloren wordt.

Het duo dompelt de luisteraar onder in een bad van dromerige, gelaagde drumcomputers en atmosferische elektronica, die vaak iets weg heeft van Seefeel of Boars of Canada, al zijn andere melancholische indie invloeden als Björk, HTRK en Portishead ook nooit ver weg. Nu gaat de band op tour om hun wondermooie plaat te vertalen naar een emotionele live setting, waarbij we uitgenodigd zijn om even weg te zweven in hun muzikale landschap.

MUNIX

After years of taking part in collaborative projects, as one half of the nevrland duo together with ssaliva, and as a founding member and resident Dj of the Belgian collectives Heartbroken (2015-now) and Folie Douce (2010-2015), Benjamin Munix (BE) released his frist solo EP, 'Left Out', this past May via Worldwide Unlimited (Dj Python’s imprint and community project) & City Links Recordings. The six-songs project contains co-production from Dj KIT (Planet 1999).

Navigating between Ambient and Club Music while referencing Shoegaze, Hip-Hop and Punk Rock, ‘Left Out’ serves as an introduction to a distorted yet hopeful universe. The songs focus on melodies and textures, utilizing a minimalistic approach for a maximalist sound. Reflecting on emotions from teenage years and early adulthood, it seeks to find happiness in melancholy and freedom in loneliness.
