Six textile raconteurs rewrite the enchanted yarn of nature at the very heart of the greenhouses of Le Botanique. Like Penelope undoing her weaving in the Odyssey, each of these young European artists tries to weave or reweave the delicate web that links us to the living world. Woven from threads and love, this tale of humanity unfolds before our eyes in a series of short scenes, forming an ode to the plant world.

Conceived as a genuine itinerary through the vast open-air greenhouses of Le Botanique, De Fil et de Nature showcases a new generation of women artists determined to revive the art of tapestry and the broader field of textile art. From the stunning textures and 3D effects of KRJST Studio’s large-scale landscapes to the metallic volumes of Adeline Halot, Charlotte Payet’s intriguing ‘knitting’ of plastic threads, and Solenne Jolivet’s dishevelled embroidery, an unfamiliar landscape unfurls before our eyes, immersing us in Nature magnified through threads. As though she wanted to capture the flight of clouds, Élise Péroi has hung up a large sail while Elodie Antoine offers visitors a poetic promenade or a treasure hunt by dotting some of her pieces in the remotest corners of the exhibition space.

With its forward-looking approach, De Fil et de Nature serves as a manifesto for textile arts in an age when they would appear to escape the shadows and assume their rightful position in contemporary fine art.
