As part of Balthasar Burkhard's exhibition, a conversation will be organized between Laurent Busine, Jean-Marc Bodson and Tobia Bezzola.
It is also an opportunity to present the new publication, "Above and Below", published on the occasion of the exhibition!
Laurent Busine
Laurent Busine was a dear friend of Balthasar Burkhard.
Exhibition director at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi from 1983 to 2002. Lecturer in Museology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles from 1990 to 1995. Supervisor of the project to develop the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MAC’s) of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels in Grand-Hornu from 1991 to 2001. Director of the Museum of Contemporary Arts of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels in Grand-Hornu from 2002 to 2016.
Jean-Marc Bodson
Jean-Marc Bodson is a documentary photographer and photo critic for La Libre Belgique.
He is an independent commissioner (around 50 exhibitions since 1998, for the Royal Theatre of Namur and the UCL in particular). He is a teacher at l’ESA Le 75 in Brussels and at the University of Louvain. He is a member of various judging panels, including at Contretype in Brussels.
Tobia Bezzola
Tobia Bezzola has organized numerous exhibitions and publications on modern and contemporary art, including photography and video, and since January 2018 has been the director of the Museum of Art of Italian Switzerland (MASI) in Lugano.
He studied philosophy and art history. In 1995, he was appointed Curator of the Kunsthaus Zurich. Tobia Bezzola From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of the Folkwang Museum in Essen, Germany.
