In the “ ...fils de...” (Les retrouvailles) exhibition, the artist slips in new portraits to complete the faces already presented in the first part of the exhibition.
This portrait gallery allows Gauthier Huber to paint an entirely different picture, a different family tree, yet still a family reunion. This change within his own exhibition is reminiscent of the structure of “Viral”, a book written by the artist and published by La Lettre Volée for his Botanique exhibition; a process set in motion in 2005 as part of “virus”, his exhibition at Ruimte Morguen in Antwerp.
