The purpose of ArtContest is to discover, accompany, and promote the creative work of young contemporary artists in the long term. Its philosophy is to foster their evolution and shed light on their practices and their positions as artists in today’s society. The increasingly rigorous not-for-profit organisation strives to offer participants the highest possible visibility (exhibition, website, social networks, art publishing, etc.) and opportunities to network with professionals in the art world.
The works of previous winners now feature in the collections of various institutions, including the Banque Nationale de Bruxelles, M Leuven, and Mac’s.
The jury is made up of Carine Bienfait (JAP), Liliane De Wachter (curator at MUKHA), Catherine Mayeur (professor), and Simon Delobel (art historian and curator).
The jury shortlisted ten artists from among the submissions received, whose work was deemed to be the most consistent and well-constructed: Adrien Degioanni, Hannah De Corte, Jimena Chavez Delion, Judith Eva Geerts, Juliette Vanwaterloo, Oya (Ouyang Yuzhen), Pedram Kargar, Frank & Robert Robert & Frank, Stephanie Rizaj et Yuan Yue.
