Sculpture et parasites is a series of exhibitions bringing together sculpture students from ARBA-ESA, alumni of the same studio, as well as contemporary artists of different generations.
The three-part cycle was initiated by Pierre Daniel and Lucie Lanzini at the invitation of Grégory Thirion and will run from 15 December 2023 to July 2024 in the Botanique's Serres.

Through encounters between different generations of artists, the project examines the topicality and future of sculpture. The artworks will be challenged by the materiality, the space, the history of the glasshouses, the suggestive effect of the glass, the pools, the metallic structure and distinctive green colour.
As different artists (working in a wide variety of media, forms, and subjects) confront this space, the question that arises is whether sculpture can act as a parasite and be parasitised.
Entitled “Vaciller”, the first exhibition in the series includes sculptures that are all in a state of tension. While some are balanced, others stretch the material to its very limits... How far can one defy gravity? How far can a material withstand porosity, transparency, or liquidity? Without question, the connection to the body, to space and to perception keeps us in suspense and tension in the Botanique’s Serres.
