Lysistrata is a band in a hurry. Coming from radical musical backgrounds, Ben Amos Cooper (drums, vocals), Theo Guéneau (guitar) and Max Roy (bass) have already erected their building to dizzying heights. With a clear 90s heritage, the trio transcend the usual labels of post-hardcore and noise-rock with the spontaneity of their youth.
After two albums and an endless string of tours, the trio are back in the spotlight with a courageous paradigm shift: asymmetry, dissonance, walls of sound, labyrinthine noise and frontal emotion. Lysistrata have an undeniable gift for creating, assembling and uniting.
THE GURU GURU
Since 2012, The Guru Guru have been brilliantly cultivating an art rock that blends high-impact guitars, polyrhythm and visceral, disjointed vocals with a committed message. Influenced by Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, SOULWAX, The Mars Volta and Andy Kaufman, among others, the Belgian band deconstructs codes to deliver compositions that are as surprising as they are gripping.
Their third album, 'Make (Less) Babies' (2023), self-produced and recorded live without concessions or artifice, illustrates this organic approach. With a strong commitment to ecology and consumerism, the album reaffirms the band's status as a key force on the Belgian indie scene. Acclaimed for their energy on stage, they have criss-crossed Europe with Brutus and Raketkanon, making live music their favourite playground.
STONKS
Formed in 2021 by four musicians attracted by original and alternative creation, Stonks is an indie band from Brussels. They're inspired by rock, jazz, the casual hubbub, broken waltzes, all kinds of music for long hair, and above all by the new British post-punk scene, which has been lassoed by the likes of Squid, Shame and Viagra Boys. Their first project, Class Craic, was released in September 2023.
