Trio Fred Frith, Susana Santos Silva, Tom Malmendier - Ornella Noulet & Egon Wolfson

La rencontre sur scène, pour la première fois dans cette configuration, de trois musiciens improvisateurs internationaux. Le guitariste Fred Frith et la trompettiste Susana Santos Silva jouent en duo depuis leur premier concert à Mulhouse en août 2021 (le témoignage de ce concert est publié sur le label Rogue Art). Ils ont depuis foulé de nombreuses scènes dans le monde entier.

Le batteur liégeois Tom Malmendier joue avec Fred Frith depuis 2020 et un premier album en quartet (publié sur son propre label eux sæm). S’en sont suivis des concerts en duo, en trio et en quartet, en France, Allemagne et Belgique. A l’invitation de Fred Frith, c’est la première fois que ces trois musiciens joueront ensemble.

Ornella Noulet & Egon Wolfson

Ornella and Egon met in Brussels in September 2022. The french-americain duo have succeeded in uniting their souls through music. They soon began playing together, first in a tribute project to Jackie McLean, then in the band Ola Tunji, which is now expanding into a wide range of horizons. With deep respect for the legacy of John Coltrane and his peers, they seek their own musical path through expression and improvisation. They have already played a number of venues in Belgium.

For several months now, Ornella and Egon have been developing their duo. They are in search of an explosive and/or meditative way of playing and breathing through their music, they draw principally their inspiration from saxophone/drum duos from the late 60' early 70'. They recorded their debut album in the summer of 2024, at the Alhambra Studios in France, it should be released before 2025.
