Producer, performer and label head Sega Bodega - AKA Salvador Navarrete - has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most innovative and precocious creative minds. His impact spans music, fashion and film, soundtracking some of the most important cultural moments in recent years, as well as building a catalogue of solo releases that traverse genre, style and composition.
His 2021 album Romeo showcases an otherworldly production style that has marked him as a pioneer within the alternative and electronic worlds. Romeo includes collabs with Arca and Charlotte Gainsbourg and critically lauded singles ‘I Need Nothing From You,’ ‘Angel On My Shoulder,’ and ‘Only Seeing God When I Come.’ Following the release of Romeo, Sega toured the UK/US/EU, drawing sold-out crowds to unite in introverted, ethereal mastery.
A true multi-hyphenate, alongside his two solo albums, Bodega has been a crucial hand in countless projects over the past decade: from the development of artists under his NUXXE label, to production for the likes of Björk, Caroline Polachek, Rosalía, Shygirl, Eartheater, Oklou, Kiss Facility, Sevdaliza, and more. A keen soundtracker, Bodega scored Nike’s 2018 Jumpman ad and contributed to Rihanna’s Puma x Fenty show at NYFW. He's worked with Bottega Veneta on numerous projects, most recently soundtracking the fashion house's short film ‘Reunion In Motion.’
In late 2022, Sega released new single ‘Kepko’ closely followed by a remix of Björk's ‘Ovule’ in early 2023. He released a single with Safety Trance (AKA DJ Cardopusher), ‘Arena!’, on September 13. Most recently, he worked once again with Björk, producing her most recent single 'Oral,' a duet with Rosalía. With an ever-expanding list of experimental and creative endeavours to come for 2024 and beyond, Sega Bodega is poised to enter the pantheon of pop’s great polymaths.
KISS FACILITY
Kiss Facility is the project of Mayah Alkhateri: an upcoming music artist who is Emirati-born-and-raised, and half-Egyptian. Kiss Facility blends influences from shoegaze and indie rock with cultural Arabic influences of Mayah's heritage in order to subvert and challenge ideas about identity, creativity and freedom.
