Searows is the indie-folk project of Alec Duckart (he/she), a Kentucky-born, Oregon-raised singer-songwriter and guitarist. His debut album, 'Guard Dog', released on 30 September 2022, was written, recorded and produced by Alec alone, on an old laptop, using GarageBand, between his 21st and 22nd birthdays. On the 13-track 'Guard Dog', which encapsulates his moving take on folk and indie, as well as the single 'House Song' (2023), his songwriting is intensely vulnerable, full of plaintive ruminations on knowing yourself and holding yourself together in complicated relationships.
Because Searows' lyrics resonate with so many people, his music has spread like wildfire on TikTok and quickly garnered praise from artists such as Ethel Cain, Gracie Abrams and many others.
