Sasha Alex Sloan is an artist from Boston whose honesty and sense of humour make her one of those artists you can easily identify with.

But there's nothing ordinary about Sasha Alex Sloan. In 2014, the 22-year-old Bostonian's parents decided to repaint the front of their family home, affectionately inscribing ‘dork’ and underlining the word with an arrow pointing towards Sloan's bedroom. She then posted a photo of the scene on Reddit, where it immediately caused a buzz. Breaking the site's self-promotion protocol, the young artist added a link to her Soundcloud page in the comments, which ultimately enabled her to land a contract with a record label.

Since then, 8 years on, the pop star has lent her voice and writing skills to Kygo and Odesza, and crafted hits for Katy Perry, John Legend and Camila Cabello. Her eternal favourite subjects are heartbreak, family dissonance, self-esteem and the passage to adulthood, and she has released a string of successful albums, including a concert at Coachella in 2023. Her latest album, ‘Me Again’, released on 17 May, heralds her return to the Botanique, where she is sure to charm you with both her voice and her lyrics.
