ROUQUINE - CHARLIE FARON

These two brunettes, one of them slightly greying, sing about spleen with biting irony and explicit, poetic language. The melodies are haunting, and the head moves to elegant, racy electro-pop. The words are like percussion that hits you in the gut. It sways and it makes you laugh. Love, kids, death, sex... Rouquine likes James Blake and Boris Vian, Alt-J and Orelsan.

Live, Rouquine is off to distant lands and wide open spaces, but the rhythms are more muscular and the body is always in motion, feet on the ground. Playing with urban codes on topical themes, Rouquine takes the dust off the song and catches its audience off-guard.

CHARLIE FARON

A self-taught singer-songwriter and artistic director, he is the founder of the Encré brand and head of the Encré.mp3 label.

In 2022 he released his first EP, Pensées, and in 2023 his second, Super Positions. Having spent his childhood in the United States, he learnt English before French, so he took up a challenge that was no mean feat: singing in French.

From his first demos in English to the electro-pop project 228k, of which he is also the mastermind, he has freed himself from his constraints. He returns in 2024 with the ambition of breaking away from certain codes in the music world by releasing one track a week, every Friday of the year. From songs in English (his mother tongue) to French disco funk and guitar-vocals folk, everything will be an excuse to express himself.
