"L'artiste nigérian a tout pour devenir incontournable."
With one foot in Nigeria, the other in London, the one thing linking the two is music. Or rather a unique mix of soul, downtempo hip-hop and ambient music that we’ve got Obongjayar to thank for. This 21st century-poet keeps an intriguingly low-profile, but when he performs, he sings then swings to spoken word, casting you over his spell.

DUSHIME
Dushime (1995) is a fresh appearance within the Belgian art scene. For several years now, she has been moving through the Flemish cultural world. Her multidisciplinary approach to music and authentic, powerful and vulnerable theatrical performance style brings with it a rare individuality. The Rwandan Belgian, multifaceted artist views the art of performance and music as a healing process in which both, she and the listener, can truly come to their purest form.
By using her deep, powerful yet fragile voice as a universal instrument that has the ability to transform into different textures, Dushime tries to create a saturation of space: how does that space come at you, how does it sound when you stomp and the whole space screams back, a space where every step you take, thousands of people, stories march with you. A space created of sounds that generate light to connect one another. In the soundscape she creates, Dushime becomes a portal of stories, sounds and textures.
