Newmoon is a shoegaze band from Antwerp, Belgium. With two albums and an EP under their belt, the band continues to create a world where shoegaze, post-punk and alternative rock collide.
“Temporary Light,” their upcoming release, scheduled for March 2024, marks the next step in their musical evolution. With their new drummer, Conor Dawson, the group returns with an emphasis on a sound as abrasive as it is ethereal, with Simon Scott at the helm of mastering, member of Slowdive and undisputed figure of the shoegaze scene.
Having opened for bands such as Nothing, Turnover, Touché Amoré and Basement, thebans has performed throughout Europe and will play on Friday March 29, 2024 at Botanique for the release of their latest album.
BWANA
BWANA is Friedel Dufait's alternative, no-holds-barred indie pop/rock musical project. She immediately manages to touch souls with her low, melancholy guitar lines, accompanied by a recognizable, powerful and deep voice, where polyphony provides the right tone. BWANA has the ability to form both a 'one woman band', mastering all the instruments necessary to form an indie pop/rock, alternative band that would rival such heroines of the genre as Girl in Red or PJ Harvey, but she also plays with a group of musicians. The artist writes original, heartfelt lyrics in which you might recognize yourself.
During selection for Humo's Rock Rally 2022 and as a finalist in the Sound Track 2021-2022 competition, she managed to impress immediately with live performances of her own songs. Today, she is the winner of the Nieuwe Lichting 2024 competition, organized by Studio Brussel, which recognizes BWANA as a talent who belongs in the spotlight.
