The Line Of Best Fit

MEYY’s music is a scandalous lullaby for the night-time, and a serenade to the emotions which may linger the next day. Brussels-born and London-based, the importance of movement and fluidity appear evident in both the 22-year old’s life and music. Hailing from the directions of New Time R&B and progressive pop, her smooth running, and angelic vocals become an echo of the flexibility with which senses can blur and interlace. Beginning in the cosy nature of her bedroom, MEYY brings illumination to spaces of intimacy. With a background in dance, beautifully displayed in her videos, but also Civic Engineering, MEYY understands the manufacturing of worlds, to create, translate and permit her fans to relish in their own emotions.

Visuals and sounds are often interlinked in MEYY’s universe so it’s no surprise that we see her as a futuristic 3D warrior on the cover of her new single ‘Blush’ and hear a sword cutting through the air while flirty lyrics float by. With over half a million streams on EP ‘Neon Angel’, MEYY made international press draw flattering comparisons with The Weekend’s or FKA Twigs’ early EP’s. After collaborations with Jelani Blackman and Sofiane Pamart, shows at SXSW (USA), Dour, Pukkelpop and a support tour for Oscar And The Wolf with performances on huge stages like the Sportpaleis in Antwerp, MEYY is ready to start a new chapter and her first headline tour. Discover her spectacular new live show on May 5 at Botanique.

SABRINA BELLAOUEL
