One of the characteristics of modern French hiphop is an urge to innovate. Lonepsi is one of these great innovators, exploring new directions for the genre. The French mc finds inspiration in both hiphop legend Akhenaton as well as Charles Baudelaire, creating a nuanced and dreamy atmosphere through impressionistic brush strokes. This results in an encounter between poetry and cloud rap that sounds intelligent, and excells with its refined aesthetics. New single “Ma Dernière Chanson Triste” confirms what we already knew from debut album “Sans Dire Adieu”: this is a rapper to look out for.
