Le Cri du Caire

Peter Corser's saxophone, Karsten Hochapfel's baroque strings and trumpeter Erik Truffaz's soaring vocals are matched by the striking voice of Abdullah Miniawy, a young poet and emblematic Egyptian singer eager for freedom and justice.

Spirituality and freedom come together in the same desire to invent and share, to carry the hopes of peoples whose voices have been muzzled in the face of political, social and religious oppression.

A blend of rock, Sufi poetry, jazz, spoken word and oriental volutes, Le Cri du Caire invents a metaphorically powerful universe that transcends identities and borders.
