Alongside his work with Hot Chip, The 2 Bears, and HARD FEELINGS, Joe Goddard keeps busy as a solo artist, songwriter, producer, DJ, remixer, and co-founder of the Greco-Roman record label. Across all his projects, he is driven by a hunger for experimentation, an innate understanding of dance, pop, and indie music’s inner workings, and a heartfelt love of collaboration. Joe embraces the role of ‘producer’ on a musical, practical, and spiritual level.

His infatuation with dance music began as a teenager in the ’90s, attending clubnights where he progressed from indie and hip hop to drum’n’bass to house and garage. On top of his solo records, Joe has released eight albums with Hot Chip, two with The 2 Bears, and one with HARD FEELINGS. Other projects include Extra Credit (with Justin Strauss and Marcus Marr) and A Pulse Train (with Caribou’s Dan Snaith, Floating Points, and others). He’s worked with Jarvis Cocker, Peter Gabriel, and Bernard Sumner; remixed Jessie Ware, Kraftwerk, and Disclosure; co-wrote Katy Perry’s “Into Me You See”; and released the 2011 hit “Gabriel” with Valentina.

BABA ALI

Baba Ali is the combined force of captivating vocalist Baba Doherty and knife-edged guitarist Nik Balchin, with drum machines and synthesizers regulating their pulse. The duo’s prototype sound, which they call “electropunkdisco”, blends elements of dark wave, garage rock and electronic funk with a raw soulful energy primed for sweaty dancefloors. Onstage, Baba Ali is both a menacing and seductive presence, transmitting a wall of sound that fills the room with an infectious feral groove that makes dancing inevitable.
