Jake La Botz is much more than just a musician. A multidisciplinary artist, his life is the result of a winding journey which found its enlightenment at the age of thirty thanks to the practice of Buddhist meditation. Having forged his musical career through his tumultuous upbringing, which led him to learn the blues and guitar. The Chicago native transcends codes by even making an image for himself in Hollywood, where a career in cinema opened up.

His latest album “Hair On Fire” is directly influenced by his practice and teaching of meditation. The title of the album comes directly from a Buddhist expression, which says “that one must practice as if one had one’s hair on fire”. Which means there is an urgent need to use the tools of meditation to open up and see what is. It is on the Botanique stage that the American, with his hoarse and charismatic voice, will transport us for an evening, between blues and traditional folk music.
