Led by the complicit collaboration of Francois Custers and Pierre Van Vlaenderen (Endless Dive), Brussels based outfit Guilt spin a musical web of their own. By crossing electronic elements with a dark pop infused in post-rock references, their music is penetrative and committed. It is enwrapped in a duality that constantly shifts from the emotional to the more radical, whilst preserving the vocal identity and the careful attention to lyrics writing that made the project first stand out.
Inhabited by themes that cross the personal struggle against mental sickness with larger societal thoughts, Guilt’s music offers a prose that’s both committed and suggestive. With their new EP “State of Denialism”, the band investigates denial as a global reaction to the times we live in, using the 7 tracks as various lenses, together painting a larger canvas that still leaves many questions open. Due October 30th 2024, this EP confirms many of the promises that Guilt’s first singles hinted at and confirms that, as written by French music critique Laurent Thore “Guilt holds all the card in its hand to become of one Belgium’s top musical references which account for a lot in the European indie scene.”
