ELUCID - We In The Zoo

À la pointe de la scène underground de New York depuis le milieu des années 2000, ELUCID a continuellement défié la convention et les attentes. Issu de Jamaica, Queens, l’artiste a su éviter le charme nostalgique de sa propre musique au profit d’expérimentations sonores glitch et de culture jamming saturé de basses. Membre du duo dynamique Armand Hammer depuis 2013 et dans lequel il collabore avec billy woods, ELUCID est plus occupé que jamais. Après avoir contribué au dernier single de Hemlock Ernst, l'alter ego indie-rap de Samuel T. Herring, le rappeur s’apprête à sortir un nouvel album titré « REVELATOR » et co-produit avec Jon Nellen. « The World is Dog » en est le premier extrait qu’il s’apprête à présenter au Pitchfork Music Festival de Londres, avant d’entamer une tournée qui passera par le Botanique en février prochain.

We In The Zoo emerged from a meeting between JASMIN and SVDU at the Brussels School of Fine Arts. Both already involved in separate projects, they began creating together and decided to pursue a joint project after a concert at the KONVOOI festival in Bruges. We share a passion for poetry, American abstract rap, and performance. We aim to create immersive experiences that blend different worlds. Our writing draws on past memories, both historical and personal, as well as spiritual and everyday questions. Our music is a blend of various genres and cultures, created through sampling and the use of real instruments. We write our lyrics in both English and French. Our live performances, featuring stage design and dance. We are joined by Heikel Ben Mlouka on the MPC and machines, as well as vocals.
