Behind the name The Doug lies the young Frenchman Jules Garnier, from Clermont-Ferrand. Equally at home as a rapper and a singer, the artist likes to break free of these boxes and diktats to write and share his own singular voice and lyrics, imbued with his own troubles and dreams. His influences include the energy and madness of System Of A Down, the cross-fertilisation of genres with Gorillaz, the experimental folk of Bon Iver, the singularity of the soundtracks of Boards of Canada and the strong connection he has established with the voice and lyrics of rapper Nepal.
His latest EP, 'Mauvais joueur', was released in 2023, and saw him support acts such as Eddy de Pretto, Gaëtan Roussel and Bernard Lavilliers. This was followed by a tour of the Zéniths: a rather special formula in which the artist performed all over France in bars, cafés or roadhouses bearing the same name as the famous concert halls. A deliberate and humorous choice on the part of the artist and his team, while continuing his tour in 2024 in numerous venues and festivals in France and Belgium, including a concert at the Botanique.
ROCA ROCA
Roca Roca is a Belgian-Bolivian singer-songwriter and producer. Drawn to music from an early age, she followed her passion and became an established sound engineer on the Belgian scene before taking the step to creating her own music in 2021. Her indie rock style is influenced by British pop and the electro sounds of the 90s and 2000s, where she draws inspiration from artists such as Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, Florence And The Machine, Alt-j and many others. Her Latin heritage also plays an important role in her compositions. Her single, 'Maria', is a perfect example of this, having been composed around Latin percussion.
