On June 28th, Le Botanique welcomes Dalila Kayros, an eclectic artist who transforms each performance into a unique experience and ZAÄAR, the cosmic free-jazz orchestra. The concert is an opportunity to discover their mysterious and evocative music.

Dalila Kayros, experimental singer-songwriter, is an eclectic artist who transforms each performance into a unique experience. Dalila found inspiration in the unknown, transforming her oneiric journeys into what she called sonic creatures. Kayros’ haunting melodies and ritualistic vocals lead to a visceral experience, weaving together raw, earthly tones with ethereal and otherworldly sounds.

Kayros collaborates with the electronic musician Danilo Casti, their performances conjure a profound, mystical, and powerful journey that guides the experience into a realm of multi-octave voices immersed in atmospheric soundscapes and energetic distorted rhythms: an approach that redefines the boundaries of sound and the possibilities of voice and machines. A music beyond genres, constantly pushing the limits across different musical terrains.

Dalila’s evocative melodies reveal a unique ability to connect with the audience, offering solace and inspiration through her introspective storytelling. Her latest release Animami (Subsound Records 2022) is a journey on the line of space and time, it does not behave like something that can be confined in three dimensions, rather, it creates further ones. Solemn, apocalyptic, experimental. 

Dystopian electronic music featuring vocal tribalism places the work in a hypothetical balance between the real and the visionary.

ZAÄAR

ZAÄAR is a Belgian collective born from a rib of NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM, the cosmic free-jazz orchestra that in the last two years catalysed the attention of those in love with psychedelic music, experimental drone doom and space ambient. “Magická Džungl’a” is ZAÄAR’s monumental manifesto, as amazing and ambitious in scope as was NEPTUNIAN MAXIMALISM’s “Éons”.

Featuring singer/multi-instrumentalist Guillaume CZLT (also active in ÔROS KAÙ and SOL KIA), saxophonist-extraordinaire Jean Jacques Duerinckx, the explosive rhythmic section of Sébastien Schmit and Hugues Philippe Desrosiers, and Didié Nietzch's visionary synths. Their psychedelic free-jazz soaked in droning ambient melodies awakes and stimulates ancient and forgotten senses, laying dormant since humanity has been projected into the greyness of an industrialized reality, bringing the listener back to a time when everything was new, exciting and dangerous.

ZAÄAR is more than a band: it’s the reconquest of our savage side; the terrifying and primal roar of a mind ravaged by magic drugs; the lush sounds of a soul swimming in the primordial broth, savoring again an existence full of marvels and hazards. Welcome to the jungle!
