Le Réseau de Musiciens Intervenants en Ateliers (ReMuA) operates at the intersection of music and social integration. Its mission is twofold: firstly, to promote social integration and equal opportunities through collective music practice, and secondly, to advocate for the right to culture for all, with a particular focus on children.
ReMuA offers the possibility to over 3.000 children per year to discover music in all its forms, with the strong conviction that playing music collectively can help them socialize, build confidence, open up to the world, facilitate their success at school and give them the capacity to act and become, within our society, their best selves.
EL SISTEMA BELGIUM
As part of the El Sistema Belgium orchestras, around sixty young aspiring musicians from schools in Saint-Gilles, Schaerbeek, Laeken, and Brussels-center are learning to play instruments. Guided by ReMuA's musician-intervenants through two workshops per week, these eight to twelve-year-old children are discovering instruments such as violin, cello, viola, clarinet, flute, or saxophone in small groups after school. After a year of dedicated practice, they are excited to present a concert featuring a repertoire rooted in oral traditions and festive tunes, drawing inspiration from Gospel, Blues, and Jazz.
With students from Ulenspiegel, Tivoli, Schaerbeek 2, Sainte Marie, and Six Jetons schools, along with their musician-intervenants Fanny Rivollier (Flute), Jean-Louis Marchand (Clarinet), Dimitri Delvaux (Saxophone), Ameyalli Aguilar Guerrero (Flute), Claudia Mouton (Viola), Anna Passetchnik (Violin), Gabriele Mazzon (Violin), Lucie Cazes (Cello), Francesc Marco Sendon (Musical Direction and Arrangements), and surprise guests.
